Milk powder / milk solids

Dairy & Alternatives

Milk solids on an ingredient list means milk with the water taken out — it's the same thing as milk powder. You'll find it in chocolate, biscuits, some breads and plenty of packaged sauces. At the small amount a product usually carries (we score a 10 g serving), our model puts it at 3.4. What drives that is lactose, the natural sugar in milk, which can loosen output and bring on wind for some people. So if lactose is one of your triggers, it's handy to know it can hide under this name.
